Welcome!
We welcome you warmly in Jesus' name to our spiritual family here at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and School.

We are a Christian congregation affiliated with The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod. Our congregation, located on the border of Maple Grove and Corcoran, has been serving God's people in this area with Word and Sacrament since 1864. We are committed to preaching the Gospel purely according to the Lutheran Confessions and properly administering our Lord's Sacraments according to His institution.

Our worship services follow a traditional format using the best liturgical tradition of the Lutheran Church as currently found in our church body's hymnal--Lutheran Service Book.

We celebrate the Lord's Supper weekly, as is good Lutheran tradition. Our celebration of the Lord's Supper is reserved for members in good standing of congregations affiliated with The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod. We ask that visitors from sister LCMS congregations who share our faith and doctrine announce their desire to commune with us to one of our pastors before joining us at the Lord's Table.

This Week

The congregations in our circuit are praying for one another this year. This week we pray for our the our District President and for all of our elected officers in the Minnesota South District. May God pour out His Spirit on Rev. Dr. Lane Seitz and his work and all he serves keeping them faithful to our Lord’s Word, and bringing them to the great wedding Feast of the Lamb in His Kingdom.

Special Feast Days

Purification of Mary and the Presentation of Our Lord--February 2 (Thursday): OT reading--Samuel 1:21-28; Epistle reading--Hebrews 2:14-18; Gospel reading--Luke 2:22-32 (33-40).

Verse

Alleluia. They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority. Alleluia. (Mark 1:22a)

Prayer

Lord Jesus, teach us always the truth about ourselves through the Law and the truth about You in the Gospel, that You might rule over us authoritatively now and forever. AMEN.
